Jacob A. Allen (1810-1871) was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, and died in Lynn, Massachusetts. Along with James Boyden, Allen founded Allen & Boyden, a box manufacturer based in Lynn and Beverly. He married Prudence H. Hyer in 1825 and was the father of George H. Allen, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's.
