Harvey S. Abbey (1844-1931) was born in Reading, New York, and died in Watkins Glen, New York. In 1885, after seeing an advertisement for Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, he wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, asking for information about Christian Science treatment through prayer for his wife and mother-in-law.
