Dear Mrs. Lowell,

I now expect to open my class the second Monday As Written: Mond of Oct. and will make it possible for you to come by waiting for my tuition in part If you will pay me fifty dollarsEditorial Note: $50 in 1876 is the equivalent of $1095.51 in 2014. down when I give you my text bookEditorial Note: Science and Health I will wait on you for the other fifty These terms are really more than I ought to make and less than I can afford but I will do so to accommodate As Written: accomodate you and not let you miss so great a blessing You can arrange it between you as you please in regard to your husbandEditorial Note: James Lowell studying also.

Say nothing about such an offer as this
