My dear Sarah

I write a line in bed I returned in the four o'clock train was left at the Providence Depot from 1 o'clockAs Written:o c till 4 the depot was cold as a sepulchre

I went in a coach to find Dr. Emerson when first I got into BEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts and when I got there found him gone lost the next train by it

Sarah I have a favor to ask of thee Won't As Written: Wont give up the engagement I made for Dicky to teach you? I will destroy my memorandumAs Written:memorand, and settle with you when I can see you You may take Dr Q's manuscriptsAs Written:Mss, and I have already given you more instruction than ever he gave me and the rest you can learn yourself, i.e.As Written:ie all You will ever use I have a special reason for asking this.
