I write you this without the advice of my attorney or consultation with anyoneAs Written:any one.

Until yesterday I have had but one report from those who were present at the Association meeting Oct. 7th last, that you and some others had stated before that meeting, or at other times, that I had stolen or robbed the C. S Journal of about $500Editorial Note: $500.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $15,566.80 in 2022.= I am now informed by two witnesses who were present at the meeting that you did not use that language, or otherwise intimate that I had stolen money-

I am here in Boston to face anyoneAs Written:any one who have anythingAs Written:any thing against me, and shall resort to the best lawful methods I can to defend myselfAs Written:my self-

Very Respectfully
