I was called to attend a Child sometimeAs Written:some time in the fiftiesEditorial Note: 1850s, before I had ever As Written: every been to PortlandEditorial Note: Portland, Maine, who was a great sufferer from bloodshotAs Written:blood shot and inflamed eyes. The condition was so acute As Written: accute that when the mother opened the eyelidsAs Written:eye lids. the blood would spurt from them. I used no medicines whatever. but in response to my prayer to God the young girl was completely healed. For this healing I would accept no pay but the mother out of deep gratitude presented me with a beautiful skirt which she insisted upon my keepingAs Written:keepimg -
