We shall make the changes in the Chapter Numbers & in the Table of Contents. The changes on p. 273Editorial Note: This refers to Mary Baker Eddy’s request to remove from future printings a reference to the phrase, “the crimes of Jefferson Davis” which appeared in the sixteenth edition of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Eddy had received a letter (041.14.015) from her student, Julia S. Bartlett, saying that the phrase was inhibiting Sourtherners from accepting the book. Cannot, of course, be made, unless you make the Index to correspond. Let Mr. Wiggin know, & he will make the changes in the Index to be sent to us. We shall go to press with the next edition (Twentieth)Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy in about a week.
