HerewithAs Written:Here with enclosed you will find Order for twelve DollarsEditorial Note: $12.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $316.28 in 2019. to pay for four Sets of Science and HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy which were sent me some time since. I am in hopes that by Studying the booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy they will become so deeply interested that some of them will conclude to take the course, at your college. Was very much disappointed in not being able to enter your Class in Sept. last. Was unable to find a suitable woman to care for Mrs Thompson in my absence so I remained at my post of duty.

Later in the Fall one of your Students Mrs Hale who was treating my wife gave us instructions as far as she had gone. What understanding I now have of the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science only makes me more anxious than ever to enter upon and complete the Course under you, for I do certainly believe the work to be for the best good of all.
