YoursEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. receivedAs Written:recd– It is so unusual a thing for a publisher to charge 15% more for their own books, than a Jobber charges, that You certainly should not have filled our order, without first writing us, to see if we were willing to pay you that difference – We certainly are not, and if to supply us at 25% in lots of 2 or 3 at a time (We have used in all 10 or 12 already in past 3 or 4 monthsAs Written:mos.) is not satisfactory to us, please so inform us – If to settle our accountAs Written:a/c in full as already done is not satisfactory, return our money & we will return booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy- We will not pay you .90 for nothing – Don't like that Way of being treated – & it certainly does not seem fair- inasmuch as on a few more copies you yourself give 1/3. Too much difference, altogether – should not be over 10% - Pardon us for laying down business rules to you, but the case seems to warrant it.
P.S. We are large Jobbers. Refer you to Houghton Mifflin & Co. Lee & Shepard, Ticknor & Co - & Roberts Bros – with whom we have a large accountAs Written:a/c. Your bookEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy sells only at retail - If you care to send care ofAs Written:c/o Houghton Mifflin and CompanyAs Written:H. M, & Co - 4 more & make All at 1/3, all right. If not, all right
