My dear Mrs Eddy

I received a letter from my daughter’s husband this morning saying she is sick in bed with a belief of Rheumatism or Neuralgia he didn’t know which. The doctor couldn’t tell, but feared muscular rheumatism. She has pain in back and limbs, seems to shift from one part of the body to another. I thought it best to write you this, as it seems to be a new feature of the case. I am longing to hear from you, to know if you will take the case. I feel it to be a very hard one, and that no one but you can handle it. I greatly fear it to be incurable as her deformity was before birth. Please tell me if I shall write her to stop use of all medicine. I know of course if you take the case you will not allow her to be dabbling with drugs. I anxiously await your reply to this as well as my letter of the 15thEditorial Note: See 726b.90.010.

I am going to Boston this week Friday, and as I see that is one of your reception days, shall As Written: sall call on you.
