Mr Frye’s letter of the 21st instEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. just now received, and I hasten to reply. He says you wish to engage someoneAs Written:some one to do light work in the College, and asked if I wished to take the place for my tuition. I regret that he did not state the nature of the work or how long it would take for me to pay the $200.00Editorial Note: $200.00 in 1884 is the equivalent of $5,643.01 in 2018.. Is board included in that offer or not? If I have to work all winter for my tuition, I shall not be able to pay my board at $8.00Editorial Note: $8.00 in 1884 is the equivalent of $225.72 in 2018. per week. Will you please inform me what work I shall have to do, is it sweeping; cleaning floors or what? I am able to do light work, and am most anxious to come if you can guarantee that at the end of the course, I shall be able to go forth and heal the sick, without any drawbacks.

My chief trouble is indigestion, nervousness poor circulation, and consequent chilliness, (particularly of the feet in cold weather) and catarrh; so that I have several severe colds every winter, I have one now, Dr Dorman said I should get well while learning the scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science.

I have just engaged a situation as copyist (in part) in an office; But if my stay in Boston will not keep me away from my Mother too long, I am willing to do withoutAs Written:with out new clothes and get along most any way, if I can learn a scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science that will do for me all in the future, that I trust it will:
