I have had a series of severe illnesses As Written: illnessess during the past five years, and find I have not strength to rally from the last, which was more than a year ago. Physicians say it is a wonder I have lived through them all.

I have dyspepsia and constipation very badly, poor circulation, womb troubles, severe menstrual pains, intense pain in upper part of spine, headache, and neuralgic pains whenever chilled at all.

In the spring of '85 I lost the power to sleep, and have only partially regained it. I lie down a large part of the time. If I do any walking, reading, sewing, or anything to tire me, I cannotAs Written:can not sleep for a night or two, often longer.

I have felt also a nervous worriment during the last year and a half, though never before.

I am 27 years old, have red cheeks, and look as if I ought to be well. Do you think Christian Science can cure me?

Do you give treatments, and if so what is the price, and how often do you wish to see a patient?

If you do not, will you please recommend to me the one in or near Boston most sure to cure. I will treat your recommendation as confidential.

It would be much better for me to have someoneAs Written:some one come to my house in LawrenceEditorial Note: Lawrence, Massachusetts, though I do not wish the resident Christian ScientistAs Written:C. S. if the price is not too great.

Please send me, for enclosed ten centsEditorial Note: $0.10 in 1886 is the equivalent of $3.24 in 2023., "Mental Healing, Historical Sketch." Is it necessary to have your book "Science and Health"Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy?

Please answer as soon as possible as I wish to complete arrangements so as to begin the treatments the first of the month, if it is advisable to try them at all.

Very Respectfully Yours,
Mrs. E. P. Shute,
