Dear Mrs. Eddy.

I am so glad that your class is postponed so long, for I hope that my daughter will be well enough to attend soon. She has had nervous prostration with nearly all its attendant horrors for five years. Mrs. Crosse had her case last summer & fall, and I am sure must have felt that it was a very tedious & peculiar case. But the result was exceedingly satisfactory, for we returned not only healed, but fully imbued with the desire to know more about the Science which you teachEditorial Note: Christian Science; and this was a great triumph indeed - for when she went there, through the persuasions of myself & son, she was a thoroughgoingAs Written:thorough-going Episcopalian & firmly opposed to any other views. Now, we have two copies of Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, all the numbersAs Written:no's of the Journal, & nearly all the pamphlets that you have written, & my daughter literally reads nothing else.

Soon after our return home last Fall, & while preparing to join a class, she was attacked with what is called Mesmerism, from which she has not been able to rally.

Mr. Greene & wife are treating her, & she is struggling to overcome all difficulties, but the case is very slow & tedious. We live not far from Mr. Choate, which may account for it.

Please tell me for what price you are willing to take us two.

We do not consider it dear at any price, but we have met with great losses, through mortgaging property, & are now obliged to depend entirely upon my son's wages which is $100Editorial Note: $100.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $2,882.66 in 2021. per month, for three of us. He has obtained $300Editorial Note: $300.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $8,647.98 in 2021., and I will try again to raise more if you wish me to. My son will study later on; perhaps not until next Fall. He cannot get away from his business at present. Please oblige me by an answer at your convenience.

With great respect & love,
Mrs. F. S. Kenyon.
