Having just read quite a lengthy articleEditorial Note: This is likely the article “Mind Curing,” by “Reliable,” which was published in the July 18, 1885, issue of the Chicago Tribune. It is possible that this article was written by Ellen Brown Linscott. See 163a.27.030. in Chicago daily TribuneEditorial Note: Chicago Tribune on Mind Cure which so much interested me that I resolved to write you, hoping for more information concerning your metaphysical treatment of diseasesEditorial Note: Christian Science and in as much as you discard all drugs, hygiene, manipulation et ceteraAs Written:& c. I felt glad and desirous to know if you have been down deeper into the well or mine of knowledge and found out a mental process by which the powers of the mind can be so directed and regulated as to overcome disease and restore the body — a blessed work to achieve.

But I fear it has all come too As Written: to late for me to be benefited in any way personally, as I am somewhatAs Written:some what advanced in years — 68. still do not like to lose As Written: loose hope.

Now the question is — can anyoneAs Written:any one be cured by your mental process without seeing them? I am quite a little away: live in the western part of New York State some 20 miles south of RochesterEditorial Note: Rochester, New York.

Now if it will be your pleasure to reply to some of my inquiries, and give me any information concerning this wonderful mind cure it will be very gratefully received

Yours sincerely

After reading the above to Sister she says why not speak of your eye. Two years ago last Spring I found there was an obstruction to the sight of my right eye, and it has gradually grown worse till a cataract has formed — now can anythingAs Written:any thing be done for it, and is it not probable that the other eye will take on the same disease?
