Editorial Title: Lovina Millidge to Silas J. Sawyer, March 8, 1884
Author: Lovina Millidge
Recipient: Silas J. Sawyer
Date: March 8, 1884
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Lovina Millidge on lined paper from Oconto, Wisconsin.
Editorial Note: Millidge tells Silas J. Sawyer that she has decided not to study Christian Science at present. She has received 32 Christian Science treatments from Fannie M. Silsbee and her sister has received 40 treatments from Silsbee. She writes that neither has received any benefit from the treatments, and they have not been healed. Millidge is still reading Mary Baker Eddy's book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and is deeply interested in it. Although puzzled by some of the concepts in Science and Health, Millidge would like to learn more of Christian Science. But at present she feels that taking a class would be too expensive of an experiment to try, not knowing whether or not she would succeed in practicing Christian Science.
