My dear Mrs. Eddy,

I dare not make an engagement for next Sunday. I am rapidly convalescent; but I have not yet tried my strength, - have not even been in Boston, or walked more than quarter of a mile from my own house. At some later time I shall be glad to accept an invitation; for I nowhere preach to a more attentive & receptive congregation than yours.

I last evening received my manuscript from Dr. Buswell. With thanks for your kindness in procuring it for me, believe me

Very truly yours,
A. P. Peabody.
