I Sam 17:2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. I Sam 17:3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. I Sam 17:4 ¶And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named
Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
I Sam 17:5 And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. I Sam 17:6 And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. I Sam 17:7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him. I Sam 17:8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. I Sam 17:9 If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us. I Sam 17:10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. I Sam 17:11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid. I Sam 17:12 ¶Now David was the son of that
Ephrathite of Beth–lehem–judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.
I Sam 17:13 And the three eldest sons of Jesse went and followed Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, and next unto him
Abinadab, and the third Shammah.
I Sam 17:14 And David was the youngest: and the three eldest followed Saul. I Sam 17:15 But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Beth–lehem. I Sam 17:16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days. I Sam 17:17 And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren; I Sam 17:18 And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge. I Sam 17:19 Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines. I Sam 17:20 ¶And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle. I Sam 17:21 For Israel and the Philistines had put the battle in array, army against army. I Sam 17:22 And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren. I Sam 17:23 And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them. I Sam 17:24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid. I Sam 17:25 And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel. I Sam 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? I Sam 17:27 And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him. I Sam 17:28 ¶And
Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and
Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
I Sam 17:29 And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause? I Sam 17:30 ¶And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner. I Sam 17:31 And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him. I Sam 17:32 ¶And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. I Sam 17:33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. I Sam 17:34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: I Sam 17:35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. I Sam 17:36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. I Sam 17:37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee. I Sam 17:38 ¶And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail. I Sam 17:39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. I Sam 17:40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. I Sam 17:41 And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him. I Sam 17:42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. I Sam 17:43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. I Sam 17:44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. I Sam 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. I Sam 17:46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. I Sam 17:47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands. I Sam 17:48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. I Sam 17:49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. I Sam 17:50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. I Sam 17:51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. I Sam 17:52 And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron. I Sam 17:53 And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents. I Sam 17:54 And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent.
I have met the results of the mesmerists at work on my patients but have readily overcome their evil work. I trust that I have heard the voice & Truth and have like a Lazarus steped from my grave. and that my grave clothes are being unloosed. and as I am able to understand truth my winding sheet is growing looserJohn 11:1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. John 11:2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) John 11:3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. John 11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. John 11:6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. John 11:7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judæa again. John 11:8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? John 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. John 11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. John 11:13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. John 11:14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. John 11:15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. John 11:16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. John 11:17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. John 11:18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: John 11:19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. John 11:20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. John 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. John 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. John 11:28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. John 11:29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. John 11:30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. John 11:31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. John 11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. John 11:33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, John 11:34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. John 11:35 Jesus wept. John 11:36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! John 11:37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? John 11:38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. John 11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. John 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. John 11:45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. and I so desire it grow in the knowledge the truth. That this mortal put on immortalityI Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. I Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. , to awake in Christ’s As Written: Christs likeness. to hear the joyful command let him goJohn 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. . I will labor as I have opportunity. rejoicing that every plant that my Heavenly Father hath not planted shall be rooted upMatt 15:13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. .” Laboring and patiently waiting for the time when it shall be said “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."Ps 118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. Matt 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. Matt 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Mark 11:9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Luke 13:35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Luke 19:38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. John 12:13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. I have oft to remember the command “Fret not thy self because of evil doers &c”Ps 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Prov 24:19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; But “Trust in the Lord always” "Commit thy way unto the Lord and he shall direct thy paths"Prov 3:5 ¶Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Prov 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. .

I Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. , to awake in Christs Corrected: Christ’s likeness. to hear the joyful command let him goJohn 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Prov 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. .
