Mrs Eddy,
My dear teacher,

I have waited this long time thinking I would have a goodly report of my work to send you, my patients at a distance are doing well I think, but I have five here four of which are called by Materia Medica incurable two of them have the belief of being blind

One of the four is a lady in the last stage of the belief of consumptionEditorial Note: tuberculosis, was given up by her physician over three weeks ago and last Friday by their wishes, I took her as a patient, told her that I did not want her to take any more medicine telling her my reasons etc And just as I was leaving her the thought occurred to me to tell them that if the physician that they had had should call not to allow him to examine her in any way. Well he did call and the next morning too and as usual seated himself by her bedside and was a going to take her hand “feel the pulse” when Mrs Murphy (a sister) told him that that was against my wishes—He settled back in his chair in blank astonishment and the color came to his face etc., When he had finished his call the sister went to the door with him and he told her that he thought I had “committed an unpardonable sin in coming there and raising the hopes of that dying woman as I had and to think that she could get well when that left lung was gone etc” and some of their friends called me a witch and the Dr. thought the sister just ready for the insane house.

Oh Mrs Eddy I know Mrs Murphy is not sick and if I only have enough of the Spirit to dispel this fear, error and bring that good thought out upon her—She too will know that she is not sick.

I have great hopes of her although there is so much of this error mortal mind directed to her, doctor, friends etc And there is someone calling to see her all the time to her.

I feel that if I am honest and earnest in this grand Truth that God through me will heal her as well as others that are suffering in belief.

May God guide and bless you dear Mrs Eddy. Give me a thought of love.

Yours with love.
Carrie B. Graham

I should be very much pleased to hear from you if you could spare the time to write me.
