Most respected, & beloved Teacher

Your kind, good letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. of the 11th inst, so full of good advice, & words of wisdom, came duly to hand,

I most sincerely thank you for the consideration and interest you have taken in me, and my progress in the way of “Christian Science,” and I trust, I may yet prove worthy of your confidence & esteem.

I have given up all idea of teaching, until I shall have become farther advanced in ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, lest I make some mistake, which might bring a reproach to this blessed cause of Truth, Olive joins in thanks for the beautiful Photo of your own dear self, It is a constant inspiration to us, both,

I send enclosed, a letter and circularEditorial Note: See 579.59.008 which I have just received from Mr Swarts, I think you ought to see it, and if it is not asking too much, would like to have you send it back, as I went to show it at the next meeting of our blessed association,

Sister Brown will see you soon, and give an account of us here, Our meetings are harmonious and profitable, I know that I am growing daily, and gaining strength, for my foundation is laid in “Principle,” for “other foundation can no man lay than is laid, which is Jesus ChristI Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. I Cor 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. I Cor 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; I Cor 3:13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. I Cor 3:14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. I Cor 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Pardon this long epistle from your Faithful Student
S.J. Avery

P.S. I have drawn a pencil mark under some of the lines in the circular to which I wish to call your attention
