Dear Mrs. Eddy,—.

I received the notice of your Oct. class, and am exceedingly sorry to be obliged to write again that I am not able to enter.

Lack of funds is my only reason.

I have done as you advised me and have taken no patients.

I have never been so well as I am now, And am anxious to study and go to work. I have met a good deal of error since I saw you.

I shall study in your next class without fail if you think best to take my note for tuition.

I have not forgotten that I now owe $10.Editorial Note: $10.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $263.56 in 2019. and have tried to collect enough to pay you. I shall hire money to pay my expensesAs Written:expences while studying.

My friends are much opposed to my going in to your class but have now done trying to hinder me as they have found out how firm and determined I am. There is nothing that can shake my faith in the least. And I want to be placed where I can do the most for the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science.

I think Miss Cross will study in your next class.

With much love and gratitude
I am obediently yours,
M. Anna Osgood.
