My dear Teacher

You can scarcely realize how much I appreciate your attention towards me, and the valuable time spared by you for me. Your letter previous to this was so grand and beautiful as well as very encouraging that I have read it to several of my nearest friends when I considered it appropriate and in place.

I am well aware that the slightest mistake in the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science does much harm. It does sometimesAs Written:some times seem as though two forces were at work or a right and wrong line of thought or experience I was going though, whether for my good or not I cannotAs Written:can not tell, you seem to understand my condition, I can scarcely lay the wrong to malicious mesmerism for I have had some discord connected with me which would hold me back and then I am constantly thinking, but my experience is certainly quite interesting. Probably this other force or claim of a power comes from the side of Spiritualism and very likely you do tooAs Written:to, it certainly takes me out of the Atmosphere of God, or it seems to, for my experiences on the side of Truth has been very grand and wonderful and no doubt would be surprising to many ScientistsEditorial Note: Christian Scientists if they could but know it all, and experience it.

Do not for a moment think that I am not satisfied that all Good I receive comes from your priceless teachings and your valuable Spiritual thoughts at the time, not seen or fully appreciated in the clan, but poured out upon us to be received and brought out by those chosen or ready to receive it for the purpose of healing.

Your explanation of my Clairvoyance previous to entering the clan seems correct, although in another sense it seems to be much intelligence outside of mortal mind, for it was certainly very foreign to any previous ideas, and before I purchased “Science and Health”Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I cannotAs Written:can not see how I could of got it so beautiful only from the DivineAs Written:Devine, but I will think it out on the line of Truth.

I have had the perfect healing, pictured out to me just the same very lately. that cure of the little boy was instantaneous and somewhat like recorded in John, 4: 49, 50, 51John 4:49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die. John 4:50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. John 4:51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth. . I did not see the boy and just as soon as the mother related the case I said, he will never have any more. It was not mortal me that said it, but from the Immortal Mind, a most wonderful expression of Truth, spoken without thought; how beautiful and yet how wonderful.

My dear Teacher your writings are valuable to me, and justly appreciated. Your thoughts have been most freely given, and if I fail to give all credit to them, rendering honestly all Good to God it is not intentional.

Christian Science can be found no where else only in “Science and Health”Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy., if it can I would like to see it produced. I have read several works upon Psychology, Mesmerism, Mental Healing and the like, but none have the “Whole Truth and nothing but the Truth” like “Science and Health”Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy., and it is not to be found. Quimby the mesmerist may have done some good, my Father did many great cures at the time he practiced, but no mesmerist ever had the ideas or ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science as given in your most valuable workEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy., and I know it. Evan's “Mental Medicine” has many beautiful ideas but it is so abundantly covered up and surrounded by the error that it is only disgusting to a true ScientistEditorial Note: Christian Scientist to read It is nearly all mortal mind.

I have seen the work some years ago and the same work was brought in by a friend who is somewhat interested in Metaphysics, but who now has Science and HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy., and who is very much pleased with it. So you see Mrs. Eddy that I am solid and know what Science and Truth is. I am in hopes I shall soon get back where I was in the line of Immortal thought and I hope you will pardon me for writing so much and taking your valuable time, but I had it to say and will now close.
