Dear Mrs Eddy.

The word "Dear does not express my feelings towards you, But I don't believe in words, so much as I do in deeds.

I arrived at OmahaEditorial Note: Omaha, Nebraska all safe one week ago Saturday night. I had a pleasant trip and had not the slightest belief of it troubling As Written: troubleing me to take the journey. God has been so good to me ever since I concluded to come out here, in fact he has always been so, but have never felt it so clear as I do now. I found after seeing Mrs Fenn, that my class was to be in Beatrice 7 hours ride from Omaha. I came here last Thursday, I began my class this morning at 9 o'clock, with 5 ladies & 4 gentlemenAs Written:gentle men in it. They were here nearly 3 hours, and then they were not willing to leave. They are all so anxious to learn this, and I feel that with the help of God I shall be able to make them understand what I understand. Now if they will only live up to what I shall try to make them understand, there will be no trouble. I shall teach the Christian part of it with all my understanding of it. I don't pretend that I can teach them the way my teacher can, and have told them so. I have started them with this thought that they must live up to what they talk. I shall take about $500.00Editorial Note: $500.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $13,178.22 in 2019., as I have taken husband & wife for the same price. I am going to send Mrs Crosse a draft today for $100.00Editorial Note: $100.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $2,635.64 in 2019.. to take $50.00Editorial Note: $50.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $1,317.82 in 2019. for the paper and the other $50.00Editorial Note: $50.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $1,317.82 in 2019. for the Church. It will cost me a good deal over a hundred dollarsEditorial Note: $100.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $2,635.64 in 2019. my coming out here, and my board bill. My husband still wants to go through class with you, and it would be great happiness to me to have him. Now I know you have always said you would take him for nothing, but that neither he or I would do. Now my thought is this. I can pay you $100.00Editorial Note: $100.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $2,635.64 in 2019. for him going through, then it would be the $300.00Editorial Note: $300.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $7,906.93 in 2019. for us both, like what you take others. Do you think well of this proposition? We cannot afford to pay more, as I do want to have money enough to pass through the belief. Here they tell me it takes money, and I guess it does. Do you think it wrong for me to look ahead and see that I have the money to pay for it. If I am wrong I am sorry for it. I want to do as near right as possible. I wish I could have put all that I made in this class into the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science., but I really don't feel as though I could do it just yet. God know's how gladly I give what I do give, and that I want to do more.II Cor 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. II Cor 8:11 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. II Cor 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

My aim is to instruct my class as near right as I possibly can, then I shall leave them in the hands of the living God. He knows what my motive is, and he is my judge. I thank him that I had you for my teacher. Dear Mrs Fenn has done such good work out here. I could take all the patients I wanted here, but I feel that I want to devote all the time I can to my class, and in helping them along. They would not give me a moments peace if I were to take even one patient. I want them to go to Mrs Fenn. I expect to go back to Omaha after I get through with the class here. My greatest wish for you is this that each and every student that you teach from this time forth will stand for Truth.
