Ever since reading your grand "Defence of Christian Science" in the March NumberAs Written:No - of the Journal, I have intended to write you and express my deep obligation and appreciation of its wonderful workings in my own case. It has brought such joy, comfort and peace into our lives since Belle studied - changed the “fearful and unbelieving”Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. into hopeful believers; and brightened the aspect of life a hundred fold. Nothing else could so change our existence from a dreary, barren waste, to blooming life and beauty; - in short, nothing but Christ, the "Truth, the way and the life,"John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. can make the "desert blossom as the rose."Isa 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. My own life has been saved from despair, and instead of a hopeless struggle, it is full of joyous purpose.
