I received As Written: recieved the notice which was sent me. And in reply to which I would say that I cannot enter your classEditorial Note: Class at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. My mother is very sick and I cannot leave her. You may or you may not remember that I asked you to take her case. (Mrs Hannah S. Gage) Shortly after Miss Bartlet was here Although I knew that you did not make a practice of healing now. I think that in judging by the opinion I had formed of you by reading your bookEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I expected that you would make one exception in my case. Although of course I had but slight reason to expect it. I applied to one of your students who took her case for a while but who did her no good.

Perhaps her appointed time has come. And no one can do her any good for she seems to be rapidly As Written: rappidly failing. Her trouble is of the heart which I suppose is never cured. That may have been the reason you did not wish to attempt it.

Hoping you may succeed in doing good to some.
