My Dear Teacher

I received your precious noteEditorial Note: This note is not extant. on saturday, thought I would call on Sunday after church, but concluded you perhaps would prefer the quiet after service, So I will hasten to say, my precious Teacher that though my mind has sometimes been clouded, and I have had a hard struggle to master self. and error and have sometimes been in despairAs Written:dispair. blinded as to whether I had the perfect understanding, But I could not be blinded to your motives or kind efforts and as to the word hate, I cannot think of a' person to whom I bear such a feeling much less to you, No my dear Teacher you may have wounded my pride, or vanity, But thanks to God and to you, I have at last learned to lay self aside, and for the last two weeks The Sun of truth has shone around me, as I have never known it before, I have tried to "walk in the spirit"Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. and have been led most of the time, and only once did I faint As Written: faynt myself, three weeks ago at the meeting at your hou se one of Brethren said "Let us walk in the spirit"Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. and with the words came the spirit The assurance that it was possibleAs Written:pocible , and it has seemed easier every day, No my dear Teacher the f o fowls As Written: wels have not been able to reach all the good seedMatt 13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. Matt 13:2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. Matt 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; Matt 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Matt 13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: Matt 13:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. Matt 13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: Matt 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Luke 8:4 ¶And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: Luke 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. Luke 8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. Luke 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. Luke 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Luke 8:9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? Luke 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. , for most of them were planted too As Written: to deep, and although they have been long in taking root, and the, "HusbandmanMatt 21:33 ¶Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: Matt 21:34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. Matt 21:35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. Matt 21:36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. Matt 21:37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. Matt 21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. Matt 21:39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. Matt 21:40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? Matt 21:41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. Matt 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Matt 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. Matt 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. well nigh discouraged, I believe the abundant harvest will come, at last. I thank you for your kind interest As Written: intrest and patient forbearance, and hope I may sometime be able to repay all your kindness
