Editor. C. S. Journal,

The reports of Mrs. Eddy's sermon of June 20th, and lecture before the C. S. Association June 3rd (?) were not intended by me for publication in the manner in which they appeared in the July JournalEditorial Note: See reports, “Summer Communion Service” and “Christian Scientist Association” by Josephine Curtis Woodbury on pages 95-96 and 97 in the July 1886 Christian Science Journal and “An Open Letter” by Woodbury on page 128 of the August 1886 issue of the Journal.. They were written from memory, at short notice, and owing to a misunderstanding on my own part were not revised, or corrected.

As they now stand, they are neither a correct rendering of Mrs. Eddy's remarks, and still less original ideas with me, hence should not bear my signature.
