My Dear Teacher,

I know you will be pleased to hear from me, so I venture to intrude on your valuable time just a little.

I called on two patients to day, and went to church.

I got two very beautiful thoughts quite refreshed from the Preacher, which was obedience & submission, and they were a stimulusAs Written:stimulous.

I took a new patient this week, which is destined to lead me into the very best of New York society, her husband having been worth half a millionEditorial Note: $500,000.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $13,265,257.73 in 2019., but is now poor, but she is so lovely, that her friends do not desert her, for in belief, she has been confined to her bed most of the time for 17 years, and she is very much taken with me, for I have helped her so quickly.

While I was calling on her yesterday, Mrs Tiffany, the jeweler’s As Written: jewelers wife called, and I had a personal interview, and she is willingly open to conviction, as regards the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, and no doubt Infinite Love will have an opportunity to demonstrate in that quarter, and I am glad of course.

I had a pleasant little talk last Thursday eve, fifteen being present, and I trust it will result in doing me some good.

I find there are plenty of off scientistsEditorial Note: Christian Scientists (so called,) here in the cityEditorial Note: New York, New York, and they are beginning to find out I am here, but I am not afraid of them, for if God is for me, that is as much as I want to know, so let them come on.

I have got one lady interested to study with you this summer, or first of the fall, and I don’t know but more. - I wish I might get up a big class for you and have you come and spend a few weeks with me, and teach them. what a glorious time we would have, and then I would introduce you to everybody As Written: every body I might know. and I know they would all be glad to see you.

I have found out Miss M. A. Pierce's address, which is 2141, 6th Ave, Harlem New YorkAs Written:N.Y.

I don’t As Written: dont believe you care for her testimony, for she claims to have healed As Written: heald herself. before ever hearing of your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and she has some peculiar notions, which I don’t As Written: dont believe would particularly interest you, however, I leave it for you to write her.

I get my information from a lady, who is personally acquainted with her.

I thank you veryAs Written:verry much for sending me to the relief committee in my great extremity, and God will bless you for it.

I am being tried, as you well know, but truth is beckoning me on, and if I am faithful and persevere, I know God will never fail me, so I don’t As Written: dont mean to get left, if obedience and submission, will prepare me for so great As Written: grat a trust.

I am doing the best I can and shall continue to do so, and the results, I am willing to leave to an all wise God.
