Dear Mrs Eddy,

Enclosed, please find another fifty dollarsEditorial Note: $50.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $1,320.32 in 2019., I will endeavor to have the balance fore part of next week.

It has been a constant anxiety to raise any money, my cousin not being ready to do anything As Written: any thing for me before As Written: befor middle of January, and I thought I should give out today As Written: to day , for it never came to me until tonight As Written: to night , and from a unexpected source but God was in it, praise be to his name.

This anxiety however, I don’t As Written: dont think is very beneficial, but I trust in the end it won’t As Written: wont make any serious difference, in fact: it shall not. I look at it: as a ChemicalEditorial Note: This is a reference to “chemicalization,” a term Mary Baker Eddy used to refer to a temporary stirring up of symptoms or process of fermentation as errors of various types are being destroyed. of my past experiences, and I know it must be all right, or else God would not govern my affairs, as I know he is doing, and though I can’t As Written: cant see just the way out, I am sure he can, so that gives me comfort.

I have five Charity Patients for experimenting, and when through the class, I have a few legitimate ones As Written: one’s to commence with. – Good night. [?] Unclear or illegible  .
