My dear Mrs Eddy

As one that has received great benefit and good through Metaphysical ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, I take the liberty of addressing you in the hope that you may find time to grant a reply that may help me in seeing my way clear in this which I will state as briefly as possible. I am 35 years of age, Married, no children: For eight years I have been a great sufferer from Dyspepsia and other troubles which I will not speak of here. About two months ago Mrs J H Reed of Clinton, Iowa, was called here by a lady who was very low at that time. I was advised to go and see her, and did so. I can fervently say thanks be to God for Mrs Reeds’ coming to Omaha, for through her and your ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science I have been made well and to accept the Truth. I sent for your two volumes, “Science & Health”Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. and studying them with great interest am now seeking further instruction and enlightenment, if circumstances will permit. There is a large field of labor here and a great work to be done and no one to do it.

“Truly the harvest is plentious but the laborers few.”Matt 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

I would like to ask if you would be so kind as to consider the distance and expense of going and coming expense also while there in your CityEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts. In teaching me less what your usual charges are. I will be candid with you, I am not able to pay a large price; my husband has a fair salary and is willing to do all he can but says As Written: say's that as he now understands it he cannot see that the way is open in this which I am so earnest about. Can you not make a reduction? I can go to Chicago for instruction but I have that feeling that I want to go to Boston and be taught by you. Mrs Reed is also anxious that I should go to you I am anxious to know now of this Truth and to be about my Fathers workLuke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? and I feel something will present itself in my having the way made open.

Trusting you will give this your kind consideration and with the hope of a favorable reply at your earliest convenience, I am yours

Respectfully
Mrs E B Fenn
