Your very kind compliment of my articleEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. is at hand.

You have probably had similar experiences to that of mine, in order to get the papers to publish anything in defense of ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science.

They are always so very willing to publish anything against this causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science..

Then the article of Miss AllcottsEditorial Note: Louisa May Alcott published an article in the Woman’s Journal of April 18, 1885, about her experience with mind cure and how it had not helped with her headaches and writer’s cramp. Excerpts and summaries of Alcott’s article were published in various newspapers. appeared. I replied, but it was only after I showed the Editor undeniable proof of the misleading of Miss A's article that he published our reply.

The storm clouds are gathering here, already I see signs of an approaching conflict. Our Methodist friends, the Ministers, have begun criticizing As Written: criticising our healings, of course calling it "faith cures" Etc, showing conclusively their ignorance of the divine Principle of it all. We shall try and meet them in the Christian Spirit, and know that God will bring out of it all honor As Written: honour to HimselfAs Written:himself.

Our friend Swart's seems determined to make himself conspicuous. he continues sending his pamphletEditorial Note: This is a reference to a monthly periodical published by A. J. If all faithful children of the one Mind, will continue faithful, none need fear as to the finale outcome of "Christian Science".

I addressed our students and others, at our last Friday eveningAs Written:evn’g meeting, upon the "Transfiguration,"Matt 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, Matt 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Matt 17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Matt 17:4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Matt 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Matt 17:6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. Matt 17:7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. Matt 17:8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. Mark 9:2 ¶And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. Mark 9:3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. Mark 9:4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. Mark 9:5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Mark 9:6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. Mark 9:7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. Mark 9:8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves. Luke 9:28 ¶And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. Luke 9:29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. Luke 9:30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Luke 9:31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. Luke 9:32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. Luke 9:33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. Luke 9:34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. Luke 9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. Luke 9:36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen. II Pet 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. II Pet 1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. II Pet 1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. the preparation required to understand that wonderful phenomena of a spiritual fact. That it was a fatal blow to spiritualism, because no demonstration is possible except Christ, Truth be the medium, and the power. That that event was another example of the work of Jesus Christ, which we are to imitate and that Christian Science teachers us the how. Then we read letters of patients who were healed Metaphysically, and the effect produced upon our listeners, especially the strangers was good. You speak of work: there is no place for idlers in this vineyard, and the past year has come and gone like a day.

Whenever a Miss Dr M A Fairchild of Hannibal MissouriAs Written:Mo. writes to you to join a class of yours please let me know, that is, provided you would care to learn anything from me, in relation to the lady. She studied with me one course.

I shall be glad to meet Col Smith, as I always am to meet there working for the same cause with us.
