Have you any desire, or will you ever undertake, or can you do it? remove Alberts remains back to the old spot I have an opportunity to dispose of my lot, but would not decide without consulting you. If you ever think of doing it I will keep my lot for that sacred purpose Now Darling I have several copies for sale of "The Ladies of the White House"Editorial Note: The Ladies of the White House; or, In the Home of the Presidents was written by Laura C. Holloway and was first published in 1870 and became a best-seller. It is possible that Potter is referring to the printing of the book that was made in 1886. Potter had assisted with hosting duties in the White House when Jane Pierce, the wife of President Franklin Pierce, was recovering from the loss of their son. By Mrs Holloway – the only standard work, & one every person ought to possess It would gratify me if you would subscribe, or any of your friends. There are two Vol. six dollarsEditorial Note: $6.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $194.49 in 2023. each The first vol is now ready for delivery. If you see Dr Benton ask him to send to me for one.
