Dear Brother:

I received your letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant.. Certainly, if Mrs. Eddy thinks it best to use the little I send for the church fund- do so by all means- Would she prefer I should send to someoneAs Written:some one else instead of troubling her with it? If so, to whom? And who is treasurer of the Association? I have not paid my dues for the past three months- It is a sum hard to send unless in postal note- I think I will enclose in this enough for six months. I do not know whether the dues are to be paid at the commencement or close of the quarter, but I think at the beginning As Written: begging if so, they should have been paid before- I will enclose $2.00Editorial Note: $2.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $64.83 in 2023.. $1.50Editorial Note: $1.50 in 1886 is the equivalent of $48.62 in 2023. for dues for six months and 50cEditorial Note: $0.50 in 1886 is the equivalent of $16.21 in 2023. for the little book- 'Title- "Science of Man," Now if I can keep the Treasurer's name- I will send to him or her here after- If you will send the book at once I will get it before leaving here-

I know you do not want to recommend practitioners but I was so anxious to have this case carried- so many are watching it that it will affect the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science. here greatly whicheverAs Written:which ever way it goes- and I do not know which way it will be- It seems as if he might be saved- I affected the case very much- but it was not doing as I had hoped and I wanted someoneAs Written:some one better in understanding than myself- O if we could only understand as does Mrs. Eddy- Love to her-

Yours in Truth
