My dear Teacher:

I have been intending for some time to write to you- but could not get a moment, now I write to ask for the name of some student who has healed one or more cases in the last stages of consumptionEditorial Note: tuberculosis, in belief- I have such a case, and I feel I have benefitted him but have by no means healed him. I have not destroyed his fear - I think fear has been too real to me- He shows such great fear- I feel I am overcoming that feeling in myself that his fear is beyond control and he may do better- but I wish to put him in other hands at once, unless great changes occur, before I get your reply-

I have been able to overcome some severe cases in a very short time- and I should like to tell you about them, but I cannot I am so driven. When through here I intend to return to Rochester- I do not intend to give up that city yet- How I do wish I could see and talk with you a little while- How I wish I could go through another class- I feel I am but just fitted to listen to you- A wealthy patient whom I have greatly benefitted has offered to pay my expenses through the Normal Class- so, sometimeAs Written:some time, I hope to come to you again-

Will you please address the accompany noteEditorial Note: This note is not extant. to some person whom you feel will carry this case. I ask this favor to prevent delay- as the case is urgent-

Enclosed, you will please find five dollarsEditorial Note: $5.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $162.08 in 2023.- for whatever use you may wish-

Gratefully your student
