It has come like a whirlwind. – Some unrelenting critical breath has swept me through, and laid me bare; and scattered my goods to the four winds. I have written a description of the wreck and laid it in my desk, But as a supplement to my precious letter I will say that I have labored long to know myself and find my proper place. And if it proves to be at the lowest round then let me faithfully there by found. If I am not worthy the pearls that Christian Science contains then it is right that I should know it, and I court the realms of Truth to find it out. If it is necessary that I should take the raw edge of the critics lash, then my breast is bare. If poverty and humbleness is my place, then I accept it as unmerited grace. Is Christian Science only for those who do not toil with hands for food and raiment? If so, I am prepared to know it. Is it to lighten the burdens of the heavily laden ones or to add another weight? I am prepared to know the worst. If I have any material that is good to build with, I want to build it on the rock of TruthMatt 7:24 ¶Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Matt 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Matt 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: Matt 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Luke 6:46 ¶And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. Luke 6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. .
