My dear Teacher

Since writing my lastEditorial Note: Possibly 020A.09.011 Mrs. L- has been to see me- & disclosed some things I was astonished to hear – I hope she is mistaken– I could not bear to have it so – knowing the Student in question was an open target for the enemy I have treated her to the best of my ability almost constantly since I came from your class – And I know of other Students who do the same– Oh! how I have worked since Mrs, L's talk with me – kept my eyes open nights and worked – I know that my Redeemer livethJob 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: – and this enemy cannot tarry – We have suffered in belief – from human beliefs called temper, jealousy & horror As Written: horrer at the personal ambition manifested – but I cannot yet believe she will forsake the Truth – no– we shall all save her- if possible – and there is nothing impossible to Christ– Truth – I enclose you a little scrap– & we have thought so much of this is being done here to deceive innocent – lovely people that if you could write a piece & declare who are your Students that are teaching & working right we would be willing to pay for it– I have a patient whose wife was about to study As Written: studdy with a Ms- NewmanEditorial Note: Possibly A.B. Newman they asked me if she was right & remarked– She did not agree with Mrs- Eddy & was using Evans book & said Mrs. Eddy was teaching her Students that there were people in the world trying to poison others As Written: other's with arsenic– et ceteraAs Written:&c- I repliedAs Written:replyed - that is strange talk for one professing to be true to ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science & Mrs. Eddy– & she certainly was not right – A class of twelve lovely Ladies As Written: Lady's was promised to her – well I treated this Lady vigorously– & advised her "Your Husband I said is able– Go to Mrs- Eddy & get the Science in its purity– Her Husband is now nearly healed of a dreadful malady & he told me last night– "I shall take your advice Mrs. Bell & My Wife shall go to Mrs. Eddy this fall– Her name is Mrs. Libby of Michigan Boulevard one of our Millionaires – She is in perfect health – & now her Husband is about able for her to leave him – Dear Teacher I fear you will think I am a regular tale-bearer but this causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science. is dear to my heart– It is my meat & drink to see the Science grow and prosper – no wonder the MasterEditorial Note: Jesus Christ enjoined upon His Students to "Watch & pray"Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Mark 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
