Dear Mrs Eddy,

I have wished to make your visit here every way agreeable to you. But fear it would be disappointing to you during this week- My daughter Louisa is just now quite unable to entertain company, and my wife is mostly confined to her chamber- Still, if you think it worth the while to come up and see me- I shall gladly meet you. I regret the circumstances, but am nonethelessAs Written:none the less interested in yourself, and your views,

Very truly Yours,
A. Bronson Alcott.
